How I Can Help You:

1. I will teach you the complete Classical Mat repertoire, all 34 exercises. This will approximately take six sessions with self-practice necessary in between. Once you learn these exercises correctly you can practice anywhere for the rest of your life so that you can get the most out life and live your best life.
2. Already know Pilates? I will help you work on your form so that you can get deeper into the classical exercises during one-on-one private sessions.
3. You have access to Pilates’ apparatus? I will teach you full private Pilates’ sessions with the apparatus you have available to you.
4. Are you a Pilates instructor? I can help you work on practice as well as help with your teaching skills and issues.
5. Do you want to become a Pilates instructor? I can help you choose the correct training program and answer any questions you have about what it is like to be a Pilates professional.

Curriculum & Process:
1. Classical Mat Curriculum:
The Classical Mat Repertoire is a total of 34 exercises. The ultimate goal is for the Pilates practitioner to be able to perform the exercises, flowing from one to the next, without stopping. This will be the goal of this curriculum and will take approximately six sessions for the client to learn. They will sign up and pay for one at a time. This six session time-line, is an approximation. Depending on individual abilities, needs and commitment to self-practice, more sessions may be necessary to achieve the goals of the curriculum.
Session 1: Intro to Classical Mat Pilates
Individual needs and concerns
Pilates Basics/Pre-Pilates
Self-practice in between sessions: will provide a list of exercises
Session 2: Review of Home work
Teach first grouping of exercises
Self-practice in between sessions: will provide list of exercises
Session 3: Review of first grouping of exercises
Teach second grouping of exercises
Self-practice in between sessions: will provide list of exercises
Session 4: Review of second grouping of exercises
Teach third grouping of exercises
Self-practice in between sessions: will provide list of exercises
Session 5: Review of third grouping of exercises
Review all exercises
Self-practice in between sessions: will provide list of exercises
Session 6: Full mat session

2&3. Intermediate sessions for clients that know the Classical Pilates Mat exercises, sessions for clients who have access to Pilates’ apparatus:
Sessions will be tailored to the client’s level, needs and goals, as well as what apparatus the client has available for their use. The sessions will work on the client’s form and focus on the different Pilates’ principles in order to guide the client more deeply into the work.
4&5: Sessions for Pilates instructors or the individual pursuing Pilates certification: will be tailored to the individual client according to their goals and interests.

For your first session you will need:
1. A soft surface: mat or rug will do
2. Comfortable clothing
3. Adequate space 360 degrees so that you can roll around and kick your legs without hitting anything
4. Two hand towels
5. The completed intake form and waiver must be emailed to me 24 hours prior to the start of your first session

A Little Bit About Me:

I have been exploring and studying movement my entire life. I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). I am a fully certified, Apparatus Pilates Instructor and have received my Classical Advanced Teacher Training Degree from Clare Dunphy-Hermani. I am comprehensively trained in the Classical Pilates Method and anatomy of movement. It is my job to inspire your practice and use the method to help you achieve your goals. I have successfully worked with clients with varying needs; whether you are looking to get in shape, the ability to move with ease & be free of pain, achieve balance, or to keep a rehabilitated injury moving and strong, I can help you by teaching you the Pilates Method.
I have had the privilege of private mentoring, direct tutelage and continuing work with master instructors Jennifer Kries and Clare Dunphy Hemani. This establishes me as among the 3rd generation of Classically trained Pilates Instructors. It is this elite level of expertise and legacy that I pass on directly to every client I work with at Classical Pilates of Long Island.
